Nacho Bar For the dolls!

Hi!
This may seem like a very odd Pre- Thanksgiving post, but I have decided to make my dolls a Thanksgiving meal Ala My Froggy Stuff , so I have nothing to share. But hey, what about the football games? Nachos are a game snack, right? :) To make the Nacho Bar, You will need:
Thin white cardboard (Or cereal box cardboard painted white)
3 Large googly Eyes
Yellow, green and red felt
School glue
3 plastic Containers
Stirrer stick
Paper towels
Rubber gloves

  1. I start by cutting out 2 1 and a half inch squares and 2 3 inch long rectangles out of the cardboard. Glue the long rectangles together. Repeat with the squares.
  2. I then cut some yellow felt into eighths. Cut out a small chip shape. Rub the felt to separate the layers. Glue the chips to the square, and you have your chips.
  3. To make the dip plate, I cut off the back and removed the inside of 3 googly eyes. I glue them to the long rectangle.
  4. To make the salsa, I cut red felt into tiny squares. I added one or two green squares in for green chili peppers. I add some glue to hold it together, and I mix it with the glue in the container. I put some mix into one of the compartments on the tray.
  5. For Guacamole, I repeat the process, only I make the majority green with a bit of red. I put some of mix in one of the other containers.
  6. For sour cream, I will need the gloves. Slip on the gloves and coat the palms with glue. Roll A small ball of the paper towel in the glue filled gloves. Place it in one of the compartments.
  7. You are done!
Enjoy making nachos for your dolls! What will they choose?

Halloween special! Plus:My newest doll family member

Okay, I know I said how to MAKE candy was coming up, but a lot of this will be on fun finds. Plus, I added a new Liv doll to our collection. She is discontinued , so we were lucky to get her. Miss Katie, our new doll, will be our model for the fairy costume that can be re sized for any doll from a Lalaloopsy to a My Twin, this dress can be altered in so many ways! First up, the fun finds!
Above are the first finds. They are mini chocolate bars! I got them trick or treating , but I have seen them in bulk at snack kiosks. I got: Mr Good Bar, Hersheys dark, and Hersheys milk. I also got the dots trick or treating.
Next up, the costume! To make the easy fairy dress, you need:
Old lace tablecloth
Old bed sheet
Scissors
Safety pin
1. I start by measuring a piece of the sheet to fir around my doll. I hold it in place with the pin.
2. I cut one piece of the tablecloth the same size as the sheet. I wrap the lace around the sheet, and I add the lace to the safety pinned cloth.
3. I cut a strip of lace the same width of the other cloth. I wrap it around, and I tie it around my doll.
I added The fairy wings from My Froggy Stuff to complete the outfit.
 Presto, You have a costume!
Enjoy!

A huge Dollhouse

Hello!
I know I have not blogged in an eternity, but I have been super busy lately. I took this picture at the world-famous Rijks museum in Amsterdam. Although this is for a 12 inch or a mini doll, I found it fascinating. I do indeed have dolls other than 18 inch dolls. I have a collection of Kokeshi dolls, Japanese mini dolls, and Momiji dolls, which are a line with every kind of resin mini doll, from Pixie (I think that is her name), a cute Kokeshi doll holding a cupcake, To Ted, a sad monkey with tears down his face.
Anyway, this dollhouse was so fascinating! Although you cannot see, this house has a small kitchen, a loft, a parlor, a living room and much more! Oh, how I want to live inside there! I wonder how to make that....
Ooh, do you an armoire? I bet I could use a bookcase for the base!
And the furnishings! Well, wooden furniture sets can work!
And this even inspired us to branch out! Soon we will welcome katie, a Liv doll, to our family!
 Enjoy!

Ice cream for dolls!

Hey guys!
Our technical issues are over! Today I will be showing you to how to make a soft serve sundae for your doll. You will need:
Plastic salad dressing cup
Kleenex
Beads
Glaze
Glue
Oil pastel
Paper cup
Paintbrush

  1. I start by filling a plastic food sample cup to the top with Kleenex. I brush on a layer of glue.
  2. I then put on a pair of rubber gloves, and I coat the gloves with glue. I roll a sheet of Kleenex into a thin rope, and the glue helps the rope take form. I wind the rope around the middle of the cup, and then secure with more glue. Be sure to make sure that when the rope is almost done winding, it forms a peak.
  3. 3.To make sauce, I scribble oil pastel on the bottom of a paper cup. I pour some glaze (I use toys to grow on water proofing glaze.) Into the bottom of the cup. I mix with a paintbrush till the glaze has picked up the pastel color. You can choose which kind of sundae you wish to make. I made a sundae I call the Frostine (Left) using magenta (Strawberry) sauce and pink beads, And a Tropical Glitz sundae (Right) using blue,( Ocean blue)lime green(Kiwi) and yellow(Pineapple) sauces. I used blue seed beads for toppings.
I have so many ideas in the works! Some of them are:
A bedroom
A vintage coffee house
A Chinese Dumpling shop
An Airport
A classroom
Doll Halloween candy (This will be posted on Halloween night, as part of a Dolloween special post.)
Babysitting Items (Baby food, babysitters manual, cloth diapers, medication, reward stickers.)
Those are just some of the wonderful ideas in the works. Well, I have to go go the supplies for the bedroom, so I am Signing out! Click!
Enjoy!

Quart plastic bags

A doll Theatre!

Hello!
I am so sorry about not sharing more crafts! School is so busy, and I have been getting a boatload of homework. Anyway, Here is a cool craft on making a cool theatre plus some cool movie snacks! You need: Many craft  supplies!

  1. Start with a red trifold poster board.
  2. I make the screen by cutting up pictures from the AG catalog. Any doll catalog would work. I glue bits and pieces of various photos to make the screen. I cut out photos of two dolls at a sleepover, some food, a salon caddy, some mini dolls, some hair extensions, a magazine, a book and a pet. I mount it onto a piece of colored paper.
  3. For the box office, I tape two folders together. Using my doll as a guide, I lay her down on the large folder we just made. I sketch out a square around her face, leaving a lot of room so it goes down to her chest. I cut out the square, and I replace it with clear packaging from boxes.I cover the folder part in scrap booking paper. I attach the non cut part to the board.
  4. I made seats by cutting the top and a side off of a cardboard box.
  5.  I cover it in red velvety fabric.I made the concession stand by laying a cardboard box on its side. I cover it in colorful computer paper. I cut out the main focus of a popcorn box or bag, and I tape it to the box. I write the menu on an index card, and I tape it on.
  6. To make a 2-d popcorn box, I cut off the sides of a popcorn box. I cut it off at about midway.
  7. To make nuts, I shaped small bits of terra cotta clay into nuggets. I glazed them before they dried to make them look fried. I put the nuts in a plastic food sample cup.
  8. To make a plate of nachos, I start by cutting a plastic pillbox in half. On mine, the plastic was soft, So it could be cut as easy as cardboard. This is the plate. To make the chips, I cut small pieces of felt and layered them. I cut a chip shape out of the felt. I rubbed ti let the chips go loose on the plate. To make the cheese, I mix yellow watercolor paint with Kid safe clay glaze (The kid safe part is not so important, but it would be a waste to use polymer glaze.) I mix until it looks like nacho cheese, And i paint it on the chips. Before it dries, I add bits of foam for toppings.
  9. I use beads and shortened straws for candy.
Enjoy making your dolls some cool snacks and a brand new theater!

Marie Grace at the spa Plus:How to make Doll Yarn hair wraps

Marie Gracie went to the Doll town Spa today. She had her hair picked out using a fine tooth comb and  a floss pick, her body was cleaned using Clearasil face wipes, And her torso was cleaned as well. After she got a donut and a Mint chocolate chip shake at the snack stand,  she saw an ad for..... Yarn Hair Wraps!
To make a yarn wrap for your doll you need:
2 colors of yarn
Clear packing tape
Clear hair elastics

  1. I begin by braiding a small section of hair, and secure with a clear hair elastic.
  2. I then tie a strand of yarn the length of your shoulder to your hand to the braided section.
  3. Wrap the strand around the braided part. When that strand runs out (If it does.) Tie another strand to the hair and repeat. To secure the end of the yarn, I use some clear packing tape.
I hope you enjoyed this craft.

How to make Doll Donuts

Hello!
This is my first craft post in 2 weeks, so I am just Too Excited to share this craft with you! Today we will be making chocolate doughnuts for our dolls. And Voila, It is on a nice new cookie sheet.
For the Donuts:
Terra cotta clay (I am using DAS modeling material from Hobby Lobby)
White clay (I am using Paper Clay)
Twisty Ties
Wooden dowel
Glue
Seed beads or glitter
For the Sheet:
Foam Paper
Glue
Tinfoil
Twist ties

  1. I begin by rolling out a strip of terra cotta clay.
  2. In  the middle of the strip, Place a Twisty tie. Then I roll the strip into a snake, making sure no twisty ties show.
  3. I then roll the snake into a doughnut shape , and I make sure that you are only twisting the part where you feel a twisty tie. I trim off the excess.
  4. I then roll some white clay into a thin snake. I wind the snake around the top of the donut to look like icing. I sprinkle the icing with seed beads or glitter.
  5. To make the cookie sheet, cut a mini foam sheet in half. Wrap it in foil. Than cover two twist ties in foil, bend like handles, and glue to the sheet.
  6. You are done!

Enjoy making doughnuts for dolls!

Basic Crafting

Hello!
Today I will be showing you how to perfect the art of crafting, and this post does not reqire photos. This post will tell you all about the basic supplies needed to make most of the crafts on this blog.
The supplies are:
  • Computer paper- This is by far the most simple craft supply. It Can be found almost anywhere.
  • Cardboard-This is also pretty basic. Collect cardboard from cereal boxes, Poptart  boxes and shipping boxes.
  • Craft Foam-I buy Mine at createforless.com.You can Get 50 mini sheets of foam for somewhere around six dollars.
  • Fabric-I Buy mine at Joan's fabric by the yard.
  • Tinfoil- This is something you probably have at home.
  • Drinking Straws-I get Mine from amazon.  However, To save time and money, pick up some at your local coffe shop for free.
  • Bottlecaps- Collect these from water , soda and Gatorade bottles
  • Lara's wooden button plugs- Athese are not all that basic, But they are doll play gold. I get mine the same place I got the craft foam sheets.
  • Markers-My advice-Do not go too fancy. I just use Crayola Pip Squeaks.
  • Scrapbook paper-This is a great play essential. Get it in a value pack, and buying it from a vendor aimed at younger kids will lower costs.
  • Popsicle sticks-Warning- Buy these from a craft store. Do not use used Popsicle sticks!
  • Colored Computer paper-Recycle from brochures.
  • Ads from the paper-These have many uses.
Next Are a few tips:
  1. Do not use any food product in your crafts. If you want to treasure miniatures forever, Refrain from using salt dough that has not been sealed. Also Refrain from using anything with sugar in your crafts.
  2. While crafting, Keep in mind that dangers may be posed. If you are under 11, I would ask a parents help on hot glueing, clay baking or ironing a patch. For your safety, Hot glue and oven bake clay are not used in any crafts.
Enjoy!

A doll Gymnastics Gym!

Today We will be making a gym for our AG dolls. This craft may take you anywhere from two days to two weeks. The ideas for some of the things came from the blogs Doll Diaries And My Froggy Stuff. I will tell you which of the things did. To make this you will need: Tons Of art supplies!

  1. I am using a trifold poster board to make the back drop for my gym. I start by cutting many sized star shapes out of foam. I glue one big , 1 small and 1 medium together. I make many to give my gym some pizazz.
  2. To make the bar, I roll up a long sheet of foam into a tube. Secure with many small strips of tape. I make two tubes.  Cover them with red velvet fabric. I attach a long dowel between the tubes. I Taped it in place. And voila, you have your bar!
  3. In our gym, not just the boys do the rings. I used binder rings and yarn to make rings.
  4. I made a Trapeze bar by stringing a 3 foot string of yarn through a drinking straw. I tied on the top. I taped that and the rings to a panel of the trifold.
  5. My froggy stuff and doll diaries both have good rhythmic  gymnastic ideas. I made My Froggy Stuff's clubs and Doll Diaries Ribbons.
  6. I cut a shelf paper tubes into small pieces and attached them to the wall to make pegs to hang the ribbons on. I used 3 small foam sheets to cover the bottom with mats.
  7. To make the water fountain, I covered a toilet paper tube with tin foil. I cut 1 inch long piece of a drinking straw and another 1 fourth of an inch piece. I glued the smaller piece of the straw to the side of the larger piece. I glue the straws to the tube, and I made sure that the small piece faced inward.
  8. I used a small dollar store plastic container for the stool. I then took a slightly larger container, Turned it upside down, and filled it with: Last weeks beauty items, travel sized lotion, makeup sample applicators, eye shadow applicators, mascara sample applicators, And mini pill boxes.
  9. I rolled up mini foam sheets to make yoga mats. I secured with a strip of computer paper.
  10. For the trophies,  I used mini academy awards from amazon. They are party favors that I had left over from a birthday party.
  11. I made the uniforms by cutting out arm and leg holes from a felt puppet shape I found At Discount School Supplies. I sewed up the back flap of the puppet. I used paper tape for decorations. I Tied some of the felt and paper tape onto a hair elastic to make a team scrunchies.
And voila, you have a doll gym! I might be able to cram in one small post tomorrow. Over the next two weeks, I may be posting only giveaways and quick crafts. I will be posting from a tablet, so there will be no photos. If I find any cute doll finds on my trip, I will post the idea and there will be photos when I get back. Meanwhile, Go shopping for free doll finds, Make crafts from old posts and more!
Enjoy!

A fun find: Doll Spatulas: Plus: The doll skillet

    Hey guys!
Today is a two in one post day. That means that this post is about two things: A fun find, and a related craft.
The first thing is the fun find. I found these makeup spatulas that make perfect doll spatulas at A Soma store at the mall! They were for samples, so I got mine free!
These would also work for barbie dolls.
My next thing is a doll sized skillet craft! This craft took up one of the spatulas, but if you do not have these, use the handle from a food sample spoon or even a handle from a real plastic spoon.

For the skillet ,pancakes, and syrup:
    Tin foil
1 Makeup spatula or spoon handle
    Recycled cardboard
    Tan and yellow craft foam
    Glue
    Bottle cap
    Scissors
    1 large bead
    Stud earring base
Begin by cutting out a 3 inch circle of cardboard. Cover with foil. Glue on the spoon handle or makeup spatula to the foil covered cardboard. Let dry. And there, you have your skillet!
For the pancakes, press a bottle cap into tan craft foam. For an 18 inch doll, use a water bottle cap. For a 21 inch My Twin doll or similar, use a gatorade cap. I cut out the circles from the impression it left. I glue on small squares of yellow craft foam for butter.
To make the syrup, I glued a stud earring base to a large bead. Finish off with a makeup spatula as a spatula.
    You are done!

Budding chef Elizabeth is busy making her doll family pancakes for breakfast. The pancake batter secret was passed down many generations before it reached Elizabeth.
"Mm, these pancakes smell too good! I have to make seven before my sisters wake up! " Exclaimed Elizabeth, rushing to make the pancakes perfect.

For this photo, I used a hair band instead of a clear plastic elastic to help her hold her spatula. I t looks like a real pot holder!
Enjoy making pancakes for your dolls!

Doll at work #1: Doll car wash

Today Ivy and Elizabeth are having a car wash.
"Oh my gosh, Ivy we are having a car wash! This is practically the start of a career!" Said Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth, It's nothing much. It is fifty cents a wash, and this is our first chance to make money. We will have many more chances in the coming days." Said Ivy.
    "You win." Elizabeth sighed.
To make the supplies as well as a fun extra, you will need:
Travel sized body wash container, cleaned
    Cardboard
    Twisty ties
    Sponges with one rough side
    1 sheet printer paper
    Small round cardboard box
    glue stick
    recycled cardboard
    tinfoil
    advertisements for air freshener
    Packing tape

For a tote, I am using a round cardboard box. I added a strip of computer paper for a handle. I taped it with packing tape.

I am using a travel sized body wash bottle as a disinfectant spray can. You can add a label if you like.

For paper towels, roll up a small strip of paper towels.

For an air freshener, I twisted a twisty tie around my finger. I added a picture of An air freshener from an ad.

For the steel wool and sponges, I cut a sponge down to size. I cut the rough end off, and i used that for  steel wool.

I made Pop Tarts for the dolls to snack on. I cut out 1 inch rectangles of cardboard, and in the center I put some white computer paper for icing. I drew on sprinkles with marker. I cut a one and a half inch square and covered it in foil for a plate.

Lets hope your dolls earn some money by cleaning some cars!

Yesterday was My Doll Ashely's Birthday. She gets a belated birthday treat today and tomorrow. Breakfast In Bed! And Voila, she can eat it in her new bed!
    For the bed:
1 yard Of Red velvet style fabric
Your favorite doll bedding, homemade or store bought
    1 shoebox
    1 Glue stick
    11 craft  sticks
    Packing Tape
     For the night stand:
    Recycled cardboard from cereal boxes
    Paper towel tube
    scissors
    tape
    For the breakfast:
    Recycled cardboard
    1 food sample cup
Lid to Ipod shuffle box Or Piece of card stock
    Red, white and blue Pompoms
    Yellow marker
    Computer paper
    scissors
Start by making the bed. Cover the Shoebox in red velvet fabric. Now you can make the headboard. Tape 9 out of the eleven craft sticks together. It should make a sheet of wood. Glue the other two sticks across. Tape the headboard to the bed. The headboard should look like this:

Add doll bedding to the bed. To make the nightstand, sit your doll up in the bed.  Mark where your doll can reach it. Cut off the excess tube. Cut a two inch square of recycled cardboard. Tape it to the tube.

Now it is time to make the food. Use recycled cardboard for a tray. Bend the sides up. Cut Heart shapes out of cardboard to make heart pancakes. Use A lid to an ipod shuffle container as a plate, or use card stock. To make Berries, mix red and blue pompoms. Use white pompoms as whipped cream. Serve in a food sample cup.  To butter the pancakes, use little squares of computer paper colored yellow.

Ashley loved her heart pancakes and berries. Here she is, eating her food:

Enjoy! And remember, any day can be brightened with breakfast in bed!

    Back To Doll School

Many of you have started school and many of you are still in the prep phase, but regardless, school is something that is on everybody's mind at this time of year. In this post, I will show you how to make school stuff for your dolls.
The outfit is a My Dolls Life tee paired with American Girl Retired Meet Pants. The Tee had a rip in the collar when I found it, so i just cut the neckline straight and tied bits of the hem to the sleeves. The hair flower is from Build A Bear Workshop.
The Backpack is a wristlet from Claire's. It comes in many themes, but I chose the lightning. It can open and close, and it has a lightning zipper pull.

For a roll of tape, I used mini Fashion Angels Fashion  Tape rolls . The Tape came in large packs from Michael's.

For a canvas painting in progress, I drew a crayon drawing on a mini canvas. I used mini Handwriting Without Tears crayons for crayons, and a lip gloss sample brush for a paint brush.

For books, I used Mini books that came with Mini Ag Dolls. I cut sticky notes down to size , and then I wrote on them and stuck them in the book for notes.

I made my Doll a cafeteria lunch to enjoy at break. I made her a burger using three 1 inch wood discs, glue and felt. I make the burger by making a sandwich in this order. Start with a 1 inch wooden disc. Add a layer of glue. Color a wooden disc brown and place on top of the wet glue. Add more glue. Cut a a half inch oblong out of green felt. Place on top of the glue.  Add more glue. Cut a circle of red felt. Place on the glue. Add glue on top of that, and place the wooden disc on the glue to finish. For a salad, Cut green felt up into small strips, and place in a bottle cap. For a cupcake, I am using a lip gloss from a candy store. The Coca Cola is a soda can candy container from the candy shop.  It actually is called Loca Cola. The Tray Came with IWAKO erasers. The burger container was the lid to an Ipod Shuffle box.

For a stapler, I used An IWAKO eraser.

These crafts are simple and fun doll school crafts. There are many mini backpack options out there, including first aid backpack clips and other Claire's wristlets.
A binder can also be made By folding a small bit of paper in half, punching three holes down the back fold, and add three mini binder rings. Decorate the front as you wish.
    Enjoy!
