Monster High Party Ideas

Hi!
So as you know, I am now in love with Monster High! I want to show you some things i made like the cafe I made, but I am on vacation now. I thought I would share some ideas I have to make a Monster high birthday party. I saw a vid on how to do this by party city, but I thought that some ideas were okay, but I found it to be a bit... well,  store oriented. Here are some ideas.

1. Start by sending out invites. Use Leftover MH doll packaging . Cut a shape out of the box, and glue white paper to the back. Write out the details on the paper in pen. Mail them in black envelopes with a pink return address sticker or stamp. 
2. Once you have gotten all RSVP'S, start ordering favors. If your birthday is around Halloween, you can go to a halloween shop and buy tiny favors.  Monster high favors are avalible at partycity.com. You can also include fake fangs and stickers as well as tiny Lilp balm and nail polishes.
3. Ask guests to bring a small photo of themselves. At the party, have them make id cards with the photo and cardstock. 

Below is a list of activities you can do that resemble the day at monster high. Use these activities to compile a "Schedule of classes" for the guests to enjoy. You can do them all, or pick and choose.

• Ferice fashion 101- For this class, you will need 2 dolls, preferably monster high. Break the guests into teams. You will also need the following: old t shirts, tissue paper, glue, duct tape, doll shoes (Monster high, barbie or ever after high). Using only these materials, the guests must create a dress for the doll based on their style. For each doll, print pictures of their different looks as inspiration. Have one guest who wants to judge decide which outfit is better.r origami tutorials from online. Have your friends take a shot at building 3 dimensional figures!
• Lunch- Serve up some creepateria food! Use a monster high tablecloth and plates as well as plastic trays.. Serve up juice boxes, sandwiches, veggie burgers, pasta with red sauce, chips and salad. 
• Home Ick- Now comes the cake! In this class, guests can decorate a cupcake or a cookie. Have a contest and see who wins an A from Ms. Kindergrubber, the home ick teacher! Be sure to have icing, frosting, sprinkles, sugars and more.
• Music class- This takes place in the catacombs! Light a candle on the birthday girl/boy's cupcake, and use tea lights for the other candles (subtract one from the age of the birthday child to find how many tea lights are needed). Turn out the lights. Have the guests sing happy birthday! Have the birhday child blow out the lights. Then, have the ghouls eat their cake in the dark.
• Fear squad- Have the guests get into groups to invent a fun cheer! Have a contest to see who has ghoul spirit! Be sure to have  cheer pom poms (Size the tutorial from my froggy stuff to fit humans by cutting longer strips or buy some pom poms), tissue paper leaves, and maybe a even meat baster filled with water to add effects!
• Phyical deaducation- Have the ghouls go outside in the summer to play games like four square! If it is the cold winter, skip this class or find a way to play inside.
• Study howl- (lightly inspired by party city) Purchase MH themed reading like the monster high books or magazines. Have ghouls atke a break to read these while quitely chatting.
• Dead languages- Have the ghouls complete the monster high word scramble from doll diaries (http://dolldiaries.com/doll-of-the-day-monster-high-abbey-bominable)/
• Going home- have the ghouls take home their favors.

13 Wishes Movie Review

Hi!
Sorry if I am boring you with the multitudinous amount of movie reviews, but scince I am on vacation, I cannot upload any photos or do any crafts. Anyway, today I am going to reveiw the Monster High 13 Wishes movie. This movie, as with most, has a doll line to go with it. I have Twyla and Draculaura from this line. Anyway, On with the review!
My rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
When Howleen Wolf, Clawdeen Wolf's little sister, is sent to detention for trying to make an elaborate display to become popular, she is secntenced to clean the attic of Monster High. While cleaning, she finds a genie's lamp with a genie inside that can grant wishes! Howleen wishes herself and he friends out of detention, and the Gigi, the genie tells Howleen that she can summon her whenever Howleen wants! But along with all of these advantages, Howleen finds herself under a whisper spell that will influence her to wish things that can cause harm to people! This whisper spell is operated by Gigi's shadow, Wisp.
Meanwhile, Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculaura, Abbey and Ghoulia go into the lantern to try to find a magic mirror that will break the whisper spell and save Howleen, but even with Wisp creating obstacles for the ghouls, all of the ghouls can work together to find the magic mirror and save Howleen.
Pros
1. The classic genie in a bottle plot! I love both I Dream of Jeannie and Monster High, so this movie is a great combination of both!
2.The ending! I loved the dance with all of the characters. I also love the song that played at the end.
3.Some Ever After High mixed in! Gigi was found by Giles Grimm awhile before Howleen!
4. New characters! I love Twyla, and I can relate to her!
Cons
1.Howleens popularity propaganda. It is too F-A-K-E!
2. Freshwater Lagoona. I liked the old Lagoona better!
3.Why no 13 Wishes Ghoulia doll??

Frights Camera Action! Movie Review

Hi Everyone!
Today I will be reviewing Monster High's brand new movie, Frights, Camera Action! I was able to stream this wonderful movie via Amazon instant video, and it is wonderful and you all should see it when it comes out on DVD and TV or you can watch it on instant video now! (P.S: It is my choice to write this review. Nobody is asking me to review this for money.) So, Lets get this review started!
 My Rating (Each plus sign counts as a star. There are five stars to rate from.) +++++ 5 out of 5 stars.
The Story: When Lord Stoker, a vampire who thinks that vampires should rule over all other monsters, shows up at Monster High to tell Draculaura that she is the next vampire queen, Draculaura, a vampire who cannot turn into a bat and does not drink blood, is quite surprised. Lord Stoker tells Draculaura that he was led to her by the Vampire's Heart, a jewel that glows upon the presence of the Vampire Queen, but when Draculaura goes to Transylvania to be crowned, she discovered that Lord Stoker had lied to her, and that she was only a stand in for the real queen, who ran away 400 years ago. Draculaura and her friends Robecca Steam, Clawdeen Wolf, Hoodude Voodoo and Cleo de Nile, go on a journey from Londoom (London) to Hauntlywood (Hollywood) to find the real Queen of Vampires.
Meanwhile, back at Monster High, all of the ghouls are fighting over the two male characters in the new Veronica Von Vamp movie, and this creates so much drama, that a new type of hearing, called Cute Court, must be held. The drama goes on until Ghoulia Yelps discovers that the two characters were the same person all along!
Pros:
1.More focus on minor characters! Although Draculaura was used a lot, I liked that they used Hoodude and Robecca as key characters!
2. Clawdia Wolf! I love her personality, and I like that MH made a Wolf that is not argumentative,
 extremely fashionable, or athletic.
3. The plot! I loved the overall structure of the plot, and I found it better Than Scaris: City of Frights or 13 Wishes.
4. Crew at Hauntlywood! I thought that the Gargoyle screenwriter was awesome (I kind of have a gargoyle obsession, just saying.) and I thought that the sassy ghost photographer (Most likely a version of CeCe Thrue from the Ghoulfriends book series) was really funny.
Cons:
1. 3-D Hoodude. Sorry MH, just not that impressed.
2.The whole Cute Court thing. I mean really, can any one movie have one scene with out one romantic reference?
3. This is not really related to the movie, but why no FCA Robecca doll? Maybe it willl be my next custom....
Enjoy the movie, and hopefully you will love it like I did!

Glassy The Mermaid: A Monster High Post

Hey!
Sorry I have not posted in awhile! With 4 hours of homework a night, It is so hard to post! Now just so you know, I am no longer in to Ag dolls that much, so all crafts will be designed for Liv, Monster High or Ever After High dolls and will contain alterations and ways to make for 18 inch dolls. In this post, I will show you how to make a custom doll with easy guidelines! This custom is a Monster high mermaid named Glassy the Mermaid, daughter of the Mermaid. To Make her , you will need:
Monster High Lagoona Blue Doll (If you want to make an 18 inch mermaid, use a Springfield 18 inch doll from Michaels or a used AG doll from Ebay) (I used the Dead Tired Lagoona that was about 12 dollars on amazon)
Duct Tape (color of your choice)
Homemade Monster High dress Or a store bought fashon pack (rescale as needed)
Doll stand
Hairbrush
Clear mini hairbands
1. Un -box your doll. To save money, get one of the Monster High dolls that does not come with a stand or brush, and use a brush and stand you already have.
2. Remove Lagoona's Fins on her legs. They snap out. Keep the ones on her arms.Undress her.
3.Using mini clear hairbands, bind her legs together. For 18 inch doll, use large hair elastics. From the feet up, begin wrapping her legs in the tape.Only wrap up to the the mid thighs so that she can move. Put some small triangles or duct tape at the bottom of her feet to be her fin.
4. Open up the fashion pack and dress her. I used Catrine De Mew's Scaremester dress that Catrine  came with. You can also use the Lagoona Basic Fashion pack, or make a dress. Make sure that the dress covers the unwrapped part of the legs.
5. Brush her hair and display her on a doll stand.
You are done!

Nacho Bar For the dolls!

Hi!
This may seem like a very odd Pre- Thanksgiving post, but I have decided to make my dolls a Thanksgiving meal Ala My Froggy Stuff , so I have nothing to share. But hey, what about the football games? Nachos are a game snack, right? :) To make the Nacho Bar, You will need:
Thin white cardboard (Or cereal box cardboard painted white)
3 Large googly Eyes
Yellow, green and red felt
School glue
3 plastic Containers
Stirrer stick
Paper towels
Rubber gloves

1. I start by cutting out 2 1 and a half inch squares and 2 3 inch long rectangles out of the cardboard. Glue the long rectangles together. Repeat with the squares. 
2. I then cut some yellow felt into eighths. Cut out a small chip shape. Rub the felt to separate the layers. Glue the chips to the square, and you have your chips.
3. To make the dip plate, I cut off the back and removed the inside of 3 googly eyes. I glue them to the long rectangle.
4. To make the salsa, I cut red felt into tiny squares. I added one or two green squares in for green chili peppers. I add some glue to hold it together, and I mix it with the glue in the container. I put some mix into one of the compartments on the tray.
5. For Guacamole, I repeat the process, only I make the majority green with a bit of red. I put some of mix in one of the other containers. 
6. For sour cream, I will need the gloves. Slip on the gloves and coat the palms with glue. Roll A small ball of the paper towel in the glue filled gloves. Place it in one of the compartments. 
7. You are done!

Halloween special! Plus:My newest doll family member

Okay, I know I said how to MAKE candy was coming up, but a lot of this will be on fun finds. Plus, I added a new Liv doll to our collection. She is discontinued , so we were lucky to get her. Miss Katie, our new doll, will be our model for the fairy costume that can be re sized for any doll from a Lalaloopsy to a My Twin, this dress can be altered in so many ways! First up, the fun finds!
Above are the first finds. They are mini chocolate bars! I got them trick or treating , but I have seen them in bulk at snack kiosks. I got: Mr Good Bar, Hersheys dark, and Hersheys milk. I also got the dots trick or treating.
Next up, the costume! To make the easy fairy dress, you need:
Old lace tablecloth
Old bed sheet
Scissors
Safety pin
1. I start by measuring a piece of the sheet to fir around my doll. I hold it in place with the pin.
2. I cut one piece of the tablecloth the same size as the sheet. I wrap the lace around the sheet, and I add the lace to the safety pinned cloth.
3. I cut a strip of lace the same width of the other cloth. I wrap it around, and I tie it around my doll.
I added The fairy wings from My Froggy Stuff to complete the outfit.
 Presto, You have a costume!

A huge Dollhouse

Hello!
I know I have not blogged in an eternity, but I have been super busy lately. I took this picture at the world-famous Rijks museum in Amsterdam. Although this is for a 12 inch or a mini doll, I found it fascinating. I do indeed have dolls other than 18 inch dolls. I have a collection of Kokeshi dolls, Japanese mini dolls, and Momiji dolls, which are a line with every kind of resin mini doll, from Pixie (I think that is her name), a cute Kokeshi doll holding a cupcake, To Ted, a sad monkey with tears down his face.
Anyway, this dollhouse was so fascinating! Although you cannot see, this house has a small kitchen, a loft, a parlor, a living room and much more! Oh, how I want to live inside there! I wonder how to make that....
Ooh, do you an armoire? I bet I could use a bookcase for the base!
And the furnishings! Well, wooden furniture sets can work!
And this even inspired us to branch out! Soon we will welcome katie, a Liv doll, to our family!

Ice cream for dolls!

Hey guys!
Our technical issues are over! Today I will be showing you to how to make a soft serve sundae for your doll. You will need:
Plastic salad dressing cup
Kleenex
Beads
Glaze
Glue
Oil pastel
Paper cup
Paintbrush

1. I start by filling a plastic food sample cup to the top with Kleenex. I brush on a layer of glue.
2. I then put on a pair of rubber gloves, and I coat the gloves with glue. I roll a sheet of Kleenex into a thin rope, and the glue helps the rope take form. I wind the rope around the middle of the cup, and then secure with more glue. Be sure to make sure that when the rope is almost done winding, it forms a peak.
3. 3.To make sauce, I scribble oil pastel on the bottom of a paper cup. I pour some glaze (I use toys to grow on water proofing glaze.) Into the bottom of the cup. I mix with a paintbrush till the glaze has picked up the pastel color. You can choose which kind of sundae you wish to make. I made a sundae I call the Frostine (Left) using magenta (Strawberry) sauce and pink beads, And a Tropical Glitz sundae (Right) using blue,( Ocean blue)lime green(Kiwi) and yellow(Pineapple) sauces. I used blue seed beads for toppings.
